Given the open-ended nature of the game, Sidon could be one of the first or last characters players will encounter while playing. Breath of the wild. Located in eastern Hyrule, players would find Zora domain where the aquatic Zora lived. From there, Sidon would be an important ally of Link in his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon.
Sidon’s voice actor Mortellarro was the casting and voiceover director for Breath of the wild. However, when asked by Zelda Dungeon if he had wanted to voice a character in the game as well, he agreed, saying he was “happy to voice the role.” While Mortellaro asked a number of questions in the interview, perhaps one of the most notable was when asked what he liked best about the Zelda the community was.
Mortellarro replied that he felt that the Zelda community is “so kind and so inspiring”, which prompted him to work harder on Breath of the wild because he knew the franchise was loved by so many different people. He also noted that he was impressed and like to see Zelda cosplay inspired, noting that seeing fans with Sidon cosplays is a highlight of any convention he attends.

He said he mainly does giveaways on Twitter, using his handle @JDMortellaro. His last gift was back in May where he offered a Nintendo hat with the Zelda logo on it as well as a triforce-shaped lamp. He noted that he plans to give more giveaways in the future, so following him on Twitter is a good way to stay connected when that happens.
As to what the role of Sidon himself looked like, Mortellaro said that since he was used to being on the director side of projects rather than the actor side, playing Sidon was “very exciting, and [he] I loved every second. ”He also said that among all the story arcs in Wild breath, he found scenes with Zelda were her favorites, but thought that choosing a particular scene as a climax was difficult because everything in the game “was a thrill”. Montellaro also reprise his role as Sidon in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which came out earlier this year.
