Job fair looks to fill 220 positions at Upper Canada Mall


Part-time, full-time, seasonal and long-term employment opportunities are available at Newmarket Shopping Center ahead of the festive period

There are more than 220 vacancies at the Upper Canada Mall at a job fair this weekend as retailers gear up for the holiday season.

On October 1 and 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 38 retailers and three Upper Canada Mall departments are participating in the fair. Candidates can submit their CV and have job interviews on site.

There are part-time, full-time, seasonal and long-term employment opportunities available ahead of the festive period, which is usually very busy for shops and the Newmarket Shopping Centre.

“Our retailers are gearing up for one of the busiest holiday seasons in a long time. York Region has seen population growth and we are seeing people in the community turning to Upper Canada for the stores and brands they want. are looking for, closer to home,” says Christine Seidman, Marketing Manager, Upper Canada Mall. “This type of hiring event has proven to attract a significant number of candidates at an important time and allows us to support both our tenants and our customers.”

The job fair takes place in both the Market Court and individual stores.

Three Upper Canada Mall departments⁠—Building Operations, Customer Experience Representative, and Security⁠—will also be participating and resumes for these positions can be dropped off at the mall’s Customer Experience kiosk.
